Each week we will be speaking to girls in the OVERT community to help us shed some light on authentic city living. From a busy morning at the office to a night on the town, each day they’ll be sharing an exclusive diary chronicling their day-to-day in the city that never sleeps – so be sure to keep checking back daily as each of our OVERT city girls share a new update filled with neighborhood discoveries and inspiring style! Today Briana shares her second diary entry, talks all things Tictail and shows us a few of her favorite pieces at Tictail Market on Orchard Street.tictail follow the girl

Hi again Briana! Tell us – for those who don’t know, what is Tictail and how would you describe your day to day?

Tictail is an awesome shopping destination to discover emerging designers from around the world. I love my job so so much, not only because of the amazing people I get to work with everyday (EVERY DAY) but also because Tictail combines so many things that matter so much to me. The company is super international – selling brands from literally all over the globe – and as a person with a love for travel and a multicultural background, this means a lot to me. Also, since, at it’s core, Tictail is a platform to help small business owners create beautiful online stores, I love supporting a brand that is all about empowering entrepreneurs. I grew up in a household where both my mom and dad started their own businesses. I watched them as they worked tirelessly on their passion projects, and how dedicated they were to their careers. I find this so incredibly admirable, and everytime I meet a Tictailer, it reinforces that dedication and fearlessness behind building a brand from scratch.

What have you discovered lately at Tictail that’s influenced your own style?

I am always discovering amazing, adorable, lovely, and memorable things on Tictail. I tend to get sucked into the Tictail app, and spend hours going from brand to brand, discovering amazing items I would have never otherwise found. It’s cool to look around my apartment and see products from Sweden, France, Morocco, Finland, Singapore, Chicago, New York City… the list goes on… all found through Tictail. The coolest part is I feel like I actually have a relationship with each of the brands I’ve purchased from. That, to me, is irreplaceable.

Feb 10, 2016, 10:15AM – Tictail was in NY MAG this week. New York Magazine. This is surreal. It is so incredible to see how New Yorkers really, truly, actually, maybe, sort of, very much, way, whoa, WOW care about our new store! I’m excited – can you tell? I got a note from one of the Tictailer’s whose product was included in the piece and they said how grateful they were to have found this community. I feel the same. 🙂

Why do you think city life and fashion go hand in hand and how do you hope to see NYC foster the fashion industry/community?

Since we opened our store at 90 Orchard Street in the LES, it’s been a bit dangerous for my bank account! My apartment may or may not be slowly turning into a mini Tictail showroom. From Saskia Pomeroy prints to Fang Leather leather coasters, to Mike Perry nudes from an event we hosted last month called Get Nude. Get Drawn. There’s a lot going on. And I love it. Tictail brings color and humor into my design aesthetic. It’s fitting for my personality!
