It’s definitely feeling like summer in the city, which means more ice cream and bottomless rosé! With all the hustle and bustle that comes with this time of year, it can be tricky to find the time to work out and stay fit. Luckily, we recently caught up with a few of our City Girls, who shared some of their favorite tips and tricks for keeping toned all summer long.

“Work out in the morning before you do anything else. It’s cooler then, and you’ll feel better all day. Your good vibes will ride into the evening and you’ll make better choices at night.”

“Citibikes! You’ll catch a nice breeze and accrue some extra fitness points while you’re at it!” 

“Hydrate! Drinking enough water is always important, but especially during the sultry, summer months. Sufficient hydration translates into better food choices.”

“Welcome the sweat! It’s going to happen. Don’t fight it.”

“Sweat in doors at studios that don’t heat the room. You’ll know the sweat pooling below you is 100% from your hard work.”

“Eat your water! Up your hydration game by consuming water dense fruit and veggies. Eating is fun any who!”

“Focus on strength training– slow burn like SLT, or whatever floats your boat.  It will be most beneficial to keep your goals and gains on track when, let’s be honest, we feel most exposed during the warm months.”

“Walk or bike everywhere! When it’s warm, the subway is even grosser, so it’s best to stay above ground!”
